JARALVE EVICTED BY PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MARIKINA DAY AFTER SERVING THE EVICTION NOTICE TO GLORIA ARROYO IN MALACANANG.

GINNO CALLS FOR ERAP to run in 2010

Common sense dictates me to believe that Joseph Estrada is qualified for 2010 Presidential Election. The much quoted provision “The President shall not be eligible for any re-election. (Sec.4, Art VII)” should not be considered as legal obstacle for his candidacy. If the purpose of the law is to prohibit anyone to be elected twice as president, the constitution would have stated “no person shall serve for more than a single term in office as the President of the Republic”. Rather, the term President was used to emphasize that the person must assume the position before the said provision may apply. The term President was construed as the sitting president since one can exploit the powers and resources of the office.
The terms “President” and “person” shall not be treated as synonymous for this would be very crucial in interpretation. Joseph Estrada is no longer the president since 2001. The term “president” is not a lifetime attribution to any person who has served the chief executive position so we can also conclude that Joseph Estrada is no longer a president. Therefore, the provision shall not apply to him.

Without Gloria, Charter Change is Acceptable

There could really be trouble if Charter Change will be pushed through to lynch the2010 Elections. Grave upheaval may arise not just from the masses, as Estrada warned, but from the middle and elite class on top. Popular opposition to Charter Change should not be attributed to mass public’s lack of information nor elite’s disapproval of parliamentary-federal system. In fact, Charter Change may be acceptable to the masses and the academic community if and only if the Gloria factor is removed in that endeavour. Therefore, resistance to Cha-Cha is merely the net effect of people’s distrust and antagonism to GMA.
Gloria’s step-down is more awaited than the 2010 Presidential Election. According to the website www.GOODBYEGLORIA.com, the people will send off GMA “with much enthusiasm”. Aside from that, other groups like the Black and White Movement have also started their own countdown to GMA’s end of term. Ensuring GMA’s bow out of office should be prioritized above all political issues. Countless organizations and movements have been campaigning for voters’ education and presidentiable forums yet we are not sure if 2010 Presidential Election will really happen.
Enough for the Arroyos, the people have sternly expressed its dislike to GMA for nine years. GMA should rethink her plans to perpetuate in power. She must step down so she may serve as the model for other politicians who are insatiably hungry for power. Streets like Edsa, Ayala and Mendiola have witnessed the nation’s angst over dreadful issues of election fraud, overpricing of government projects and lack of moral ascendancy in governance. The nation really desires changes, even constitutional changes, so the GMA stain should be eliminated on 2010 so political development could progress.
If the unwavering proponents of Cha-cha would like to advance beneficial changes to our nation, they must ensure that GMA must be absolutely out of the issue. The people no longer want GMA as the nation no longer need her as a president or prime minister. Charter Change must be seen as genuine and honest aspiration for change, not as shenanigan of the Arroyo regime.

GINNO CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF THEIR SPAGHETTI AND FRIED CHICKEN

For almost a year, their spaghetti and friend chicken were on my BOYCOTT LIST. Why?

Here’s my story...

I asked some of my students to explain their reason for being frequently late and/or absent in my class. All of them have alarmingly failing grades. “We were working students, sir” said one. “...but I don’t give special consideration for working students” I immediately responded. If I give them special treatment, that would be unfair for nonworking students, isn’t it?

To show my sympathy whatsoever, I gave them time to explain. According to them, they were always late or absent because of CHARITY WORK. Their reason caught my attention – charity work.

F.Y.I.What is charity work? The term used by their employees to sugar-coat EXPLOITATION OF LABOR. Can you imagine employers requiring their crews to render overtime work WITHOUT PAY?

How pious isn’t it? Lols. I thought of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) like outreach projects in communities. Rather, it was corporate labour abuse. Right?

Here’s the rationale of that... These students of mine, who can hardly pay their tuition, have to find means to earn. Nowhere in the world could they find anyone who can offer them an opportunity. THERE THEY ARE...FULFILLING DREAMS AND HOPES. That’s why, the argument for Charity Work is – UTANG NA LOOB.

The manager directly quoted by my students, “Utang na loob mo sa kumpanya ang trabaho mo. Kaya’t marapat lang na sundin na lang natin ang palisi nila.”

This practice is clearly against the law! The law provides just compensation for overtime work. Citing Presidential Decree No. 442 or “Labor Code of the Philippines”

Book III, ART. 87. Overtime work. - Work may be performed beyond eight (8) hours a day provided that the employee is paid for the overtime work, an additional compensation equivalent to his regular wage plus at least twenty-five percent (25%) thereof. Work performed beyond eight hours on a holiday or rest day shall be paid an additional compensation equivalent to the rate of the first eight hours on a holiday or rest day plus at least thirty percent (30%) thereof.

Evidently, their employers violate this provision of the law. Nonpayment of overtime fee defies their right to just compensation. This charity work is just a euphemism for abuse, exploitation and maltreatment of employees. Do these working students have a choice? Yes, to render charity work or to leave the company.

What if the student has a class during the time of the charity work? Well, the company does not care. What they care much is to “give happiness to their customers” Never mind the working students.

All these years, I thought I’ll be happy with their spaghetti and fried chicken. No, I’ll never beeee happyyyy with them.

Another F.Y.I. Their crews shall have to pay for the excess cooked products when the store has to close in the evening.

GINNO CALLS FOR AN EASTER without GLORIA

EASTER HAS NO HALLELUJA WITH GLORIA.

Last April 11, 2009, the Office of the President released an Easter Message from Mrs. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. I'll let you read it first before hearing the response to the psalms of Gloria's hypocrisy.

Easter Sunday Message of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, “Christ’s resurrection: The promise of eternal life”

Today, Easter Sunday, with the rest of the Church and Christendom, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. Our hearts sing out: “Rising, you restored our life; O Jesus, come again in glory!” This is the central truth of our faith and the subject of every Eucharistic celebration.

On this day two thousand years ago, our Savior, by His resurrection, proved the truth of His love for us. In our lives as Christians, we too must prove our love for the truth in His life and His teachings. We must love each other and risk our all for the truth, because God commands us so; and Christ did no less for us and expected no less from us.

We, who were consigned only to death, have now been reborn in the promise of heavenly life. We, who knew only darkness, are now asked to become children of the light because, as St. Paul reminds us, “the fruit of the light is in all goodness and justice and truth.”Hallelujah, thanks be to God!

GINNO CALLS for the Filipino people to say GOODBYE GLORIA ARROYO

Adapted from http://goodbyegloria.com/

You will leave MalacaƱang. This certainty fills us with great hope.

As a matter of fact, it would do us all, as a nation, good if you leave as soon as possible. Go. Now!

We have had enough of you trampling on our PRIDE and DIGNITY. Because of you, more Filipinos-- especially the youth-- have lost HOPE.

You are the reason why we, the people, no longer trust the government.

You stole the presidency “not once but twice,” and mocked the democratic processes;

You ruled with massive corruption and lost the moral authority to govern;

Your regime brought the people to hunger and poverty unheard of since the Second World War;

You killed activists and critics, including members of the media, thinking we will be cowed into fear.

But many of us remain vigilant. We, who shall thwart your twisted plots to stay in power. We will not allow your minions in Congress to mangle the Constitution. We will not allow you to exploit conditions to declare emergency rule. We will not allow you to once again manipulate the 2010 elections.

We will hold you accountable for your many crimes against this nation, against the people, against the youth.

Goodbye Gloria, we send you out with much enthusiasm.

And as you go, don’t forget to take your husband with you.
